Few things stir our imagination more than a fragment of something that was once whole. My inspiration comes from what remains- and what has been lost. I explore the passage of time through art.
In this series, I delve into an eclectic array of archaeological finds. I do not limit myself to simply depicting an ancient artifact. I also explore its travel through time, its significance, and its discovery by incorporating maps of excavation sites, scientific drawings, and photographs- set within a landscape or fantasy space drawn from my imagination. The layering of these elements allows us to experience the artifact with both imagination and scientific facts, instilling curiosity and wonder.

At this time, this series is being produced for my July, 2024 exhibition at RiverSea Gallery in Astoria, Oregon.
